Patricio Mekis, Angel Marín
Born and raised in Santiago, capital of Chile, in the foothills of the Andes mountain range and steps from the active Pacific Ocean. The passion for board sports such as surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding, led Patricio Mekis to be a constant explorer for waves and mountains. His search has been focused on his long and unexplored, country of Chile.This passion has led him to experience very beautiful places, generate a deep love for these places and motivate him to fight for their protection. This motivation has led him to work as ambassador of Patagonia, in different documentaries that show pure and pristine places that are threatened by human development and which we must protect.
As part of the search for pristine places, in 2017 with his brother Federico, made the documentary Más Afuera; which relates the search for an extinct endemic plant and waves to surf on the remote island of Alejandro Selkirk part of the Juan Fernández archipelago, obtaining with this film, the Dolomythos Award of the Adventure Outdoor Fest 2017 among other recognitions.
Currently, he lives in Pichilemu and is responsible for Sustainability of the Punta de Lobos Foundation, a conservation project for one of the most iconic waves in Chile. Father of 3 children, seeks to keep alive his passion for exploration and influence other people to save our planet earth.
