KLEFF 2018 Announces Finalists for Special Awards
August 10th 2018, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The 11th International Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival 2018 (KLEFF 2018) have announced that there are 4 Special Awards which are Special Merit Award, Special Jury Award, ASEAN Young Film Maker Award and Special River of Life (ROL) Award.
For Special Merit Award, 20 local films were selected as the nominees to be evaluated by the jury. The Special Merit Award will be awarded to 10 Malaysian film makers to recognize their effort in producing environmental and community-based films. The Special Merit Award winners will also be announced during KLEFF 2018 Award Ceremony.
The ASEAN Young Film Maker Award is to give recognition to student film makers from ASEAN countries, in producing films focusing on the environment and community. Whereas the Special River of Life (ROL) Award, under the partnership of KLEFF with the River of Life, will be awarded to the best film that highlights our rivers and everything they are a part of, such as the communities and the ecosystem.
Winners for the Special Merit Award, Special Jury Award, ASEAN Young Film Maker Award and Special River of Life (ROL) Award will be informed through email by the KLEFF committee.

KLEFF 2018 Awards Ceremony
This year’s 11th KLEFF jury committee and judges are Azuan Muda (co-founder of TEEBTV), Mano Maniam (local actor of Kopitiam Tv Series, director and environmentalist), Dr Reuben Clements (conservation scientist from Sunway University and Rimba) and Fadly Bakhtiar (KLEFF festival director). The films have been reviewed by a panel of judges and winners will be announced at the official KLEFF 2018 Awards Ceremony, scheduled on 26th October 2018 at 3:00 pm at Black Box in Publika Shopping Gallery, Kuala Lumpur. The 11th Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival committee would like to congratulate the finalists of each categories of KLEFF 2018!!

About the Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF)
The KLEFF is run and organized by local environmental NGO, EcoKnights. About EcoKnights
EcoKnights is a not-for-profit environmental organization with the Malaysian Registrar of Societies. Founded in 2005 by Yasmin Rasyid, the organization focuses on community based environmental education and awareness projects that help Malaysians to understand and deal with environmental issues that affect them. EcoKnights offers a variety of programs for the community including Sentinels of Time photography competition, Knights of Nature Sustainability Camp, Anugerah Hijau youth competition, and the Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF), which is now in its 11th year.
